Scrappy Sunday (3 February 2012) On A Tuesday

Over the weekend I was super busy and unable to find time to write this post however during the week I was super busy and scrapped and scrapped.  My review week runs to a Friday and I declared this week a Project Life week.  We are already on week four of the year and I still have gaps in last years project.  Not big gaps, just scrapping gaps.  Apart from 6 weeks all the other weeks have the photos printed and filed in the album.  I just need to pretify them.  So this is what I did:

All 10 pages.  Some are part weeks as I need to sort through my huge pile of printed photos and there is the odd week that needs printing extra photos.  A big preparation day needs to be scheduled to get on top of this.

This years album has all the photos ready.  Just need to put a photo print order together.  Again, time needs to be found.  Time when I don't have kids interupting me every 5 minutes.  I can wish!  I am going to continue this years album by using current stash up.  Lets face it there is plenty to

Then there are these LO's which I posted in the week as they are competion entries:

A total of 11 LO's this week.  A little bit more on track now.  Perhaps I can achieve 365 LO's this year after all.

Sketch To Scrapbook Challenge January 2013

This year in collaboration with 2 Peas In A Bucket Shimelle is putting a monthly kit together.  The unusual part of this monthly kit is if you don't like one of the items or already have it in your kit you can either leave it out or substitute it for another project; in other words, you tailor this kit to what you want and really is the best of both worlds.  Sounds good to me but sadly this month there is no spare money for scrapping supplies so I will have to use what's in my stash this month.

As of today Shimelle has shown 3 LO's on her blog made using this kit and has set a challenge based on each LO she has made.  This first challenge is to use this sketch:

scrapbooking sketch by shimelle laine @ shimelle.com

Really love the LO Shimelle made, especially the camera paper in the kit but show me a LO of Shimelle's that I don't love! Guess what?  I have that paper in my stash and but just couldn't bring myself to cut into it.

This is my interpretation of the sketch:

Thanks for looking.

WOYWW (26 September 2012)

Can't believe how quick this last week has gone.  This past week just seems to have speed by, yet I seem to have achieved very little.  this week my photo has been taken from a different angle; I got Liam to stand on my chair to take the photo.

I have my LSNED file which I have updated with my notes and some alphas that I used on a LO for Child's Play Challenge site where LO was in the top 3 for August and I am joining the DT as a guest during October.  The challenges are very suited to me.  The LO's came together really easily without having to think too hard about what to do, the best kind of LO. My desk as you can see is still covered in paint and ink which I have been having a right old game with trying to remove it all.

Since being in hospital last week I have got a little lost with my LSNED.  I was so on top of things but then it all went wrong.  I have notes for every day but I need to scrap the pages.  I really want to complete this project as I have far too many projects similar to this that are not quite finished; time just keeps running away!

If you want to have a look at some other crafty spaces pop on over to Julia and there will be links to plenty of crafty spaces all over the world.

WOYWW (12 August 2012)

I know after last weeks desk shame I should hang my head very very low.  However, it got far far worse.

I am in the process of down sizing stash.  Yes, its got to be done.  First phase is empty all the monthly kits out of the boxes.  This week I have tackled Studio Calico kits and have put them all in 12 x 12 bags, then filed in hopper croppers.  Instead of my expedit and wardrobe covered in boxes they now fit on half of the expedit.  Looks so much better already.

As a reward I have done some scrapping.  I started on my LSNED 2012 album by making some of the pages as I am waiting for my photos.

This is how my desk now looks after all those boxes have been thrown away:

Pop on over to Julia to take a look at some other crafty spaces.

10 Things (August 2012)

Its August and Its the Olympics, so what else can I do but my top 10 Things about London 2012.

1. Our Olympic Adventure.  This just has to come top!

2. Opening Ceremony, rings rising up.

3. The Queen and James Bond.  What's not to love?

4. Eventing Silver Medal.  Just wish I had been able to see this, especially the cross country.

5. Katherine Grainger.  At last, she gets her gold.
6. Such beauty.  Charlotte Dujardin wins gold.

7. The sheer look of shock on this young girls face.  15 year old Ruta Meilutyte wins gold in the pool.

8. The proudest Father ever.  Bert le Clos Father of swimmer Chad.

9. The normality of this photo.  They are just so grounded and celebrate the same as everyone else!

10.  All Countries have female competitors.

And Now For Something Completely Different: UKS (July 2012)

This inspiration class on UKS has been taking place all year and this is the first time that I have actually had the time to sit down and make a LO.  all the other LO required certain types of materials which meant I would have to wade through my stash; a job which I NEVER want to have to do, would tke way too long.  I have always read the prompts and then just thought I'll come back to that another day but never did.  However this month's is so suited to me right now.  Well done Shimelle!

I am on a bust the stash mission and trying to use of scrapping kits, of which I have many.  My stash is taking over the house.  I am now down to scraps for Sarah's Cards October 2011 kit and when I read use scraps I literally jumped for joy.  Out came the box and off I went.

This is what I came up with:

I still have scraps left and going to do another LO for my Daughter's album.

Only thing I'm not entirelly happy with is the stamped cameras as they didn't stamp properly on the washi tape and I had to restamp.  Well, its too late now.  Why is it always the thing you cant get rid off that goes wrong?

Loved this challenge and I really must get on UKS more often and take up a few more of the challenges.

WOYWW (25 July 2012)

Good morning all.  I hope everyone in the UK is loving this great change in weather.  However, typically British its supposed to rain again next week!  Best make the most of it eh?

When I was writing this post I noticed that yesterdays post was my 400th!!!  Wow, never knew I had that much to say.
This is my desk this week:

Very messy and exactly how I left it Sunday night after making a LO that I will be showing you tomorrow.  It's based on Shimelle's And Now For Something Completely Different over on UKS.  Thanks to all my visitors last week and your *encouraging* words on reducing stash.  I fully agree you can't have too much and I would love more however, what I have it taking over!  This is the top of my expedit where my wool baskets used to go:

The wool baskets have now been moved to a shelf on the landing, one in the lounge and 2 on the floor in my bedroom.  I really can't move for stash be it scrapping or crochet.  My wardrobe also has 11 unopened Studio Calico kits on top of it.  I am in desperate need to reduce this stash as there are some new lines coming out of CHA I like (well lets be honest, need) and I can't have stash anywhere else as there is just not room. Thinking of baging the SC kits up in 12 x 12 bags and then putting them in some 12 x 12 storage tubs I've seen.  This should free up the wardrobe and about 2/3 of the top of the expedit.  But What I should truthfully be doing is not spending and much more scrapping.  No more kit subscriptions till I have scrapped those 100 LO's (74 to go) but I don't think I can avoid new CHA purchases!

Anyway thanks for looking WOYWWers and don't forget to visit Julia.

Sunday Scrapping

I managed to complete two LO's on Sunday afternoon after I decided that I really had enough of the housework and gardening this weekend.  One is for the Chinese Whispers group so I can't show you it in full but here is a little sneak:

This is the other LO:

This design is taken from a LO created by Jen.  I've had a look on her blog and I can't find her LO; I think it was one created for Sarah's Cards Monthly kits.

I also managed this afternoon while sat in the garden to read through some of the prompts from Shimelle's Cover to Cover online course that is currently being run.  I have always kept my albums in chronological order and just never thought to store them any other way.  I must admit I am very surprised how many people don't store they LO's this way.  This has helped greatly with this class as I have skipped huge sections as I already stored my LO's like Shimelle was suggesting.

I ordered a couple of new albums and put in my LO's for Freya for Volume 2 of 2010 and both volumes for 2011.  I also have looked where the gaps are in Freya's albums for these years and put the page protectors in place with relevant photos.  I had already done these for previous years for Freya and all of Liam's albums already had lists made for what LO's I wanted to make.  I must be psychic!

As well as albums for Liam and Freya I also have the Document 2010 and 2011 plus this years project life.  There are 3 other wip albums; our European holiday last year, my Brothers wedding also from last year and Thomas' first year album.  Then I have JYC 2010 & 2011 plus a Learn Something New Everyday album from 2010 (didn't have time to do one last year).  These are as close to an upgrade albums I have and to be honest there really are no other big events to put in separate albums.

One thing I don't have however, is an album about me.  Just hate having my photo taken in fact I have only ever scrapped 1 LO about me alone and that was this year at the retreat.  Think I may have to scrap some more and buy an album to store them in!

Scrapping Catch Up

I thought it was about time I concentrated on Document 2011 before I find myself at the end of this month and at the point where I should be concentrating on this years project.  Apart from the printing of a few photos I have completed up to August.  This is a little photo heavy but here is my Document 2011 project:

Page 3 is in need of some photos and only consists of news and weather at the moment.

Really love this project and I am certainly completing another album this year.  Just 4 months to catch up on now for 2011.
