Fun Packed Half Term Part 1

Well things have been busy busy busy here this past week.  On Monday we went to see the Aston Villa first team train:

Then in the afternoon we jumped on the M6 and moved very slowly to Shugborough Hall:

Whilst at Shugborough we went to witches school:

Have another little adventure planned tomorrow, a follow on from Tuesdays activities.  Hope to back tomorrow to share our other adventures for half term with you.  But if not don't forget clocks go back so another hour in bed (YAY) and remember no speeding on those broomsticks!

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday?

Here we are again!  Doesn't time fly?  I seem to have done so much over the past week, yet so little.  So here is my desk today:

Bit boring I'm afraid, so here is a little peak at my paper stash.  I'll open up some boxes next week if you like, especially the Christmas ones (and lots I say!):

For a little crafty peek, here's a LO 'Bunny Hugs' I did over the weekend.  Sorry the photo is not great but I was getting a lot of glare from the shimmer mist due to having to use the flash due to poor light:

If you want to join in, just visit Julia for all the blurb.  Sorry to all those who left comments last week but I managed to delete them all, how, I really don't know.

Enjoy your day & happy crafting!

Pencil Lines Birthday Challenge - Book Sketch

This is a sketch taken from the pencil lines book:

Sketch25

This is my take on the sketch:

Its hard to believe but those photos were taken only 15 minutes apart.  Liam does have a tendency to flip moods quickly!

Halloween Party & My Christmas Stash Mountain

We went to our second Halloween Party of the year last night and here are just a few pictures for you all to see:

And not forgetting the toilet roll Mummies!

Its half term this week and we have a busy fun packed week ahead of us (weather please be kind) so I am planning on a scrapping day tomorrow as not going to have much time in the week.

I'm taking part in Shimelle's new class 'True Stories' which is starting on Monday and I am looking forward to this.  Plus I sorted out my Papers ready for Journal Your Christmas.  I was considering buying some new but when I looked at my stash I found 8 different Christmas ranges.  I really can't justify buying the new Echo Park or Cosmo Cricket Christmas papers even though they are so so lovely.  I MUST reduce my paper stash, it really is taking over my house.

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday?

Morning all, having a little lie in this week as I've come down with some lovely virus, apart fro a croaky voice I don't feel 'ill' at all.  I'm just completely exhausted which was not helped Monday night when I couldn't sleep.  So lie in means I can post this before work! Yay!

Nothing crafty apart from Liam's homework which we distressed last night.

If you want to join in or just get a simple explanation to this madness visit head WOYWWer Julia.  Have a great day, which while I'm at work I am unlikely to be having.

Cause For Concern.........

Well here we are again on a run of sleepless nights.  Really tired when I came home from work and was in bed by 8.30 and to be honest spark out pretty soon after.  Typically this was not to last and at 11.26 I was wide awake and staring in to the dark.  Lay there for around 30 minutes and came to the conclusion sleep was not happening and got up.

Decided to have a look on-line and see what I can treat myself to for completing my Scrap 50 LO's challenge.  To say I am gob smacked is an understatement.  I have spent the last 2 1/2 hours looking, looking, adding to my basket, clearing my basket and so on.

I placed two orders:

  1. A Tim Holtz Rosette die
  2. 3 mists and a 6 x 6 mask

Grand total of £29.68 including postage!

I go 70 days with no stash buying and this is all I can find that I like.

What on earth has happened???  No paper, no embellishments, no punches, no tools.

Where has the stash shopper gone????

If you find her, please send her back........

Pencil Lines Birthday Challenge - Sketch #145

Sketch #145 was chosen by Morag Cutts.  This is the sketch:

Sk145

And here is my LO.  Again a picture from our day trip to York and using the lovely Studio Calico September kit:

A quite simple yet effective sketch which I flipped.  There are some ink splashes, well spray mist, but it hasn't come out too good in the photo.  if you enlarge the picture you can see them a little clearer.

Pencil Lines Birthday Challenge

Pencil lines is 4 years old today and to celebrate they are having a day of challenges.  This is my entry in to the 12 noon challenge which is to use sketch #146:

Sk146

This is my interpretation made using the never ending September Studio Calico kit - I've made 7 LO's with it now and I've not even dented it:

There are challenges every hour and lovely prizes so pop on over to the pencil lines blog.

If anyone from pencil lines is reading this, I can't get the blinkie to work!!!  Look at the top right, got the background but no animation.  What do I need to do?

Edited - Its working, thanks Kate B x

New stash busting challenge has begun!!!!  Only another 49 to go.........

The Pink Fairy Witch

May I present to you the little Pink Fairy Witch:

Just one more......with her little black cat:

The Butterfly Has Finally Flown!

See that little butterfly above?  You know the one that says '50 done, goal reached'.  Finally I have scrapped 50 LO's.  Started the challenge on 6 August and here we are 70 days later and the challenge is complete.  Now during these 70 days I have taken delivery of subscription scrap kits and to be honest I am quite sure my stash pile has actually increased not decreased as I was hoping to happen.

So what is a girl to do before she is covered from head to toe in stash?  Another stash busting challenge perhaps?  This time I need to clear more stash so I am planning to complete 50 LO's in 50 days - not necessarily a LO a day but by 4 December I aim to complete 50 LO's.

I'm going to have a little think about what I want to buy now I have completed this challenge but I struggling to justify buying anything.  I have enough papers to last a lifetime, plenty of punches, pens, inks & dies.  So what should I buy?  One thing I know I would like is a Tim Holtz flower die, the one where it cuts and folds a piece of paper/card to produce a pleated flower and some different coloured mists but what else I would like I don't really know.

While I think about what to treat myself with, here are the LO's I created at the Bromsgrove crop last night:

First up is my title page from Document 2010.  Need to take and add a picture of the three of us here:

Next is the calendar page for March which I just need to complete the entries for and add some memorabilia:

Next is the fourth page for September 'Mascot Heroes':

Finally the album cover:

The final page I made last night was this one of Liam when we were on the open top bus ride around York:
