Is It Time To Show You Some LO's?

Things have been a little hectic round here the past few weeks.  I had been admitted in to hospital during April to have an abscess on my head drained and then ended up in hospital again the day of the Royal Wedding for further abscesses to be operated on.  For some reason over the past 2 months I have had a large number of blisters appear that have then turned in to abscesses. The count is now at 67 blisters/abcesses.  Our local hospital have no idea why this is happening and to be honest the novelty has now worn off.  11 days ago I was again admitted in to hospital for another one to be drained.

This last operation has really knocked me off my feet and I can't believe how tired I have been since.  Just hope I am feeling better this week for half term else our plans will not come to fruition and I am so looking forward to some family fun days out and to finish the week off with Bromsgrove crop which sadly this month I had to miss.  However, I think the weather may put paid to some plans!

Now on to the purpose of this post.  In March I challenged myself to make 50 LO's by Easter.  I somehow did manage to complete the challenge in full and have yet to show you the majority of the LO's I made.

Before I forget which ones were part of this stash busting challenge, here at last is a LO post, seems to have been a while:

'Lucky' made using the fab Studio Calico Countyside:

'Spring Sun' made using Echo Park:

'Fly' made using April 2010 Sarah's Cards kit.  Scraplifted Rachel from the kit design team work:

Hope you all enjoy your wet bank holiday lol x

Introducing The Next Big Thing In Scrapping.....

I had been hearing please please please for many months from my Daughter.  Could she have a blog like me?  Well last Summer we sent one up and all went quite.  Last few weeks she has been going on constantly about when can we put something on her blog.  To celebrate National scrapbooking Day she completed 2 LO's (all by herself, only input from me was could she not scrap IN MY bed!). They were both part of Shimelle's challenges for NSD.

Yesterday she wrote her first post.

Can you please support her by paying her a visit?  You can find her blog here

Thanks

Photo Editing Challenge

Editing photos is not a new thing to me its just I don't really know what I am doing and I don't have photoshop either.  It's on the list, you know the list  entitled one day I'll get this, this and this.  Until that day comes I have been using Picasa and to be honest at times I am not really happy with the outcome.  So when Shimelle set the challenge last night to edit a photo, I panicked, turned the computer off and said I'll pass thanks.

This morning I am up early, so typical of a Sunday morning, wide wide away at 4.30am, you know how it is come Monday to Thursday when I get up for work at the same time I will be so so sleepy and could stay in bed for another 3 hours plus!  I was in the need of something quiet to do, in order not to wake the kids, as I really cherish quite time on my own.  I'm sure you understand the quite time I mean, the quite time without anyone going Mom, Mom, Mom at the rate of the speed of light and volume of a jumbo jet taking off.

I read Shimelle's post through from start to finish, a real read, not skimming and then read it again,  I decided I would have a go at this challenge and would would use Picnik.  I decided to re-edit this photo of one of yesterdays LO's:

This is the original before any editing:

This is the photo edited in Picasa:

And finally this is the photo edited in Picnik:

Why have I not used Picnik before???  The alphas on the first photo are quite blurry.  Although improved on the Picasa edit they are nowhere near as defined as the picnic edit photo.  The colours are also more true to the actual LO.

I then set about editing a photo from our recent trip to Charlecote Park.  It was a very very sunny day and this was the original shot:

And this the edited version, just love the difference in the colours:

Without a doubt I think its goodbye Picasa and hello Picnik.

Thanks Shimelle for challenging me to take a new look at photo editing.

Four LO's For NSD

Here is the fourth LO that I managed to squeeze in tonight.  It is based on this weeks Sketch of the week by Shimelle.  I have had these photos since last July and has just kept them at the top of the Legoland pile waiting and waiting to find the right papers.  The blue of the sky is so bright that I have not been happy with any papers I had or any that look ok on a computer screen but when ordered were so not right.

Today I finally bit the bullet and used May Bouquet by Pebbles.  The range is very flowery but I have used mostly the reverse sides which work fine on a little boys LO.

This is Sky Ride:

Feeling a little tired now so calling it a night.  Hope all you scrappers have embraced NSD!

Lego Safari

This the third challenge from Shimelle for NSD.  The challenge was to use a border between photos as opposed to along the side on a multi photo LO.  I have used Echo Parks 'For The Record' paper range.

This is Lego Safari:

Again this is a scraplift of Shimelle's example for the challenge.  Really need to get my scrapping brain in to gear tomorrow!

London In Mini Bricks

This is the second challenge for NSD from Shimelle's blog.  She has set a challenge to use a triangle of embellishments.  Again I loved the design she has shown as an example and I have scraplifted it.

These photos were taken at Legoland last July and shows 3 London landmarks made from lego bricks:

I have used Sarah's Cards April 2011 Kit which contains Echo Park's 'For The Record' paper range.

Happy National Scrapbooking Day 2011!

Sadly due to current health problems I am unable to go to the Bromsgrove Crop today but instead of sitting here feeling very sorry for myself I am having a solo crop at home.

I have made this LO for the first challenge for NSD from Shimelle, which is to use patterned paper as a background.  I have been doing this increasingly more of late as I NEED to dent my scrap stash.  Before now I have always thought I can't use patterned paper as a base, its such a waste of precious pretty patterned paper.  I MUST use cardstock, but what am I saving it for???

I have used a picture taken last July when we went to Legoland for a few days for Freya's 7th birthday.  So here is 'Building A Happy Birthday Out Of Lego':

I have done a scraplift of Shimelle's example for this challenge using Echo Park 'Little Girl' paper range.

Its Been A While.....

Due to health issues I have taken a break from blogging over the past few weeks.  To some extent I have been trying to make the most of my time off work and have had a few days out and done some scrapping.

Need to take some photos of the LO's to show you but I did manage to complete the 50 LO target by Easter Monday!  Also managed to complete another 3 on Sunday.

Just put an order in to photobox of our Easter fun.  This Henley In Arden:

Will try not to be MIA so long this time x
