What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday (16 January 2013)

It has been a long time since I joined in with WOYWW.  Life just seemed to be in the way.  Such things are so unfair when you have crafting fun to get on with.  This is my desk this morning.

Messy but much tidier than it has beenfor a long while.  A bit of ink spraying yesterday and if you look closely you can see I have bitten the bullet and joined Slimming World again.  It needs to be done and I am quickly approaching the big 4 0 and I need to lose some of those extra lbs.  Sadly there is quite a few.  I'll be back later today to tell you all about my first weeks results on the scales.  All I will say is shocked!

Moving on to my chair is my Studio Calico delivery.

I've now subscribed for all 3 kits; scrapping, card and Project Life.  Loving the project life pack:

I really do love their acrapping kits but I have noticed they do appear to be getting smaller and this month the prices went up, the postage went up and the free delivery kicks in now at $125 for international orders.  The card kit which I have been having for 3 months now are not in my opinion that great.  I am seriously thinking of cancelling this kit but the stamps are nice and I don't have any greeting stamps in my kits as I don't make cards but the amount of scraps I have and the amount of money I spend on shop broughtcards that quite frankly are nothing special isgetting silly.  This year I am trying to make all my cards and not buy any.  Whether I can keep this up with Christmas cards will have to be seen later in the year.

Well that's my crafty space this week.  Fancy sharing yours?  Then pop on over to Julia to join in.

Thanks for looking.

WOYWW (3 October 2012)

I don't know about you but I think Summer is over and Autumn is certainly here.  Its gone a little nippy here this past week.  The days of going out with no coat are over.  Luckily we haven't had any frost yet but I have had to put the heating on a few times just to take the chill off.  This week has not been very productive.  nothing has been done at my desk apart from pile more things on it.

Nothing too interesting, yarn (must get working on this blanket this week) camera, shawl, my morning cup of tea, cross stitch kit and LSNED papers and album.

Scrapping mojo has left the building for a few days now and I'm just not wanting to scrap.  I collected some photos last Friday from Boots and I haven't even looked at them; this is so not me.  I'm hoping a day a my local crop on Saturday will get the mojo flowing.  I need to get on top of Project Life; I have done nothing since Mid May and the photos are to get me up to date to the end of August.

Don't forget to go over to Julia to look at some other crafty work spaces.

WOYWW (26 September 2012)

Can't believe how quick this last week has gone.  This past week just seems to have speed by, yet I seem to have achieved very little.  this week my photo has been taken from a different angle; I got Liam to stand on my chair to take the photo.

I have my LSNED file which I have updated with my notes and some alphas that I used on a LO for Child's Play Challenge site where LO was in the top 3 for August and I am joining the DT as a guest during October.  The challenges are very suited to me.  The LO's came together really easily without having to think too hard about what to do, the best kind of LO. My desk as you can see is still covered in paint and ink which I have been having a right old game with trying to remove it all.

Since being in hospital last week I have got a little lost with my LSNED.  I was so on top of things but then it all went wrong.  I have notes for every day but I need to scrap the pages.  I really want to complete this project as I have far too many projects similar to this that are not quite finished; time just keeps running away!

If you want to have a look at some other crafty spaces pop on over to Julia and there will be links to plenty of crafty spaces all over the world.

WOYWW (19 September 2012)

Another week has passed and here we all are showing off our crafting spaces to the world.  After last weeks mega tidy of Studio Calico kits, I rewarded myself with lots of scrapping; I have made 8 LO's over the past week plus got up to date with Shimelle's LSNED album apart from the photos which are somewhere in the post on their way to me.
And the top of the expedit now all those boxes have gone and have been replaced by cropper hoppers look fantastic.  Just need to order some more so I can then tackle Sarah's Cards and Scrapagogo kits.
Next thought I would tackle my cross stitch stash.  Oh my are there lots of WIPs and plenty of FO waiting to be framed.  Of course you can't sort and not have a play, can you?
I spent Sunday morning cross stitching and I thoroughly enjoyed it until I ended up in hospital in the afternoon which is where I am still.

Then Monday morning came.  How I forgot what lots of cross stitch does to my carpel tunnel!  When you are in that much pain you can't fasten your trouser button you know you have over done things.  This meant a very painful day but I am happy to say I am on the mend and have learnt my lesson.  Small amounts each day from now on.

This my crafty space today:

WOYWW (12 August 2012)

I know after last weeks desk shame I should hang my head very very low.  However, it got far far worse.

I am in the process of down sizing stash.  Yes, its got to be done.  First phase is empty all the monthly kits out of the boxes.  This week I have tackled Studio Calico kits and have put them all in 12 x 12 bags, then filed in hopper croppers.  Instead of my expedit and wardrobe covered in boxes they now fit on half of the expedit.  Looks so much better already.

As a reward I have done some scrapping.  I started on my LSNED 2012 album by making some of the pages as I am waiting for my photos.

This is how my desk now looks after all those boxes have been thrown away:

WOYWW (5 September 2012)

Thank God the kids go back to school today and I can start to tackle this:

Speaks for itself doesn't it and you can't even see what I have to move to get to the desk!

WOYWW & WIPW

Hello all.  I'm still on holiday and still struggling with a really bad internet connection so I am afraid this is a joint post again.  We are back home tomorrow so next week I will be going back to 2 separate posts.
My desk this week has looked like this week with my two little helpers who both wanted to scrap:
This is what they were working on:

Crochet wise I have sat on the beach and made another 9 squares, plus the 4 blogged yesterday as part of my Tuesday Tallies.

This makes a total of 116 squares with 16 of the joined together.

Pop on over to Julia and Tami to have a look at lots of crafty desks and woolly projects.

When home I will take a look at other participants of both get togethers as really struggling with the internet connection.  The local library  here closes on a Wednesday (!!!!!????) and I had trouble logging on at the train station yesterday which meant we had to go back to the library for a second time to finish my posts.  Reason it was a second visit is it closes for an hour at lunchtime.  Until you are in a similar place you don't realise how much you take your local amenities for granted.

Thanks for visiting and I will be popping in to see some of you over the weekend. Enjoy your day all x

WIPW & WOYWW (22 August 2012)

I am away at the moment and don't have internet access where we are staying, therefore when I do manage to get a connection I am making the most of it as it is very rare and very temperamental.  This is why this is a combined post.  As part of Tuesday Tallies, yesterday I blogged that I had made 13 squares between Wednesday and Saturday just gone.  Between Sunday and last night I made a further 27 squares, giving a total of 103 mini squares.  Yay, passed the 100 mark!!!

I'm getting there slowly.

And my workdesk this week?  Well its been this view:

Yes I have sat on the beach crocheting.
Pop on over to Tami and Julia to join in all the fun.  Thanks for looking x

WOYWW (25 July 2012)

Good morning all.  I hope everyone in the UK is loving this great change in weather.  However, typically British its supposed to rain again next week!  Best make the most of it eh?

When I was writing this post I noticed that yesterdays post was my 400th!!!  Wow, never knew I had that much to say.
This is my desk this week:

Very messy and exactly how I left it Sunday night after making a LO that I will be showing you tomorrow.  It's based on Shimelle's And Now For Something Completely Different over on UKS.  Thanks to all my visitors last week and your *encouraging* words on reducing stash.  I fully agree you can't have too much and I would love more however, what I have it taking over!  This is the top of my expedit where my wool baskets used to go:

The wool baskets have now been moved to a shelf on the landing, one in the lounge and 2 on the floor in my bedroom.  I really can't move for stash be it scrapping or crochet.  My wardrobe also has 11 unopened Studio Calico kits on top of it.  I am in desperate need to reduce this stash as there are some new lines coming out of CHA I like (well lets be honest, need) and I can't have stash anywhere else as there is just not room. Thinking of baging the SC kits up in 12 x 12 bags and then putting them in some 12 x 12 storage tubs I've seen.  This should free up the wardrobe and about 2/3 of the top of the expedit.  But What I should truthfully be doing is not spending and much more scrapping.  No more kit subscriptions till I have scrapped those 100 LO's (74 to go) but I don't think I can avoid new CHA purchases!

Anyway thanks for looking WOYWWers and don't forget to visit Julia.

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday? (18 July 2012)

Morning all.  If you are in the UK I hope you had a dry day yesterday like we did in the Midlands.  It was lovely to get some washing out on the line.  Lets hope this dry weather is here to stay now the kids are breaking up the end of this week.

This is my desk this week:

I am part of a Chinese Whispers group and I made my August LO yesterday.  This is the final remain of Sarah's Cards October 2011 kit that I used.  I think there is maybe 2 more LO's here and then I can break the kit down into alphas, embellishments and scraps.  Need to have a look through my stash and find another kit that is nearly all used up.  Although I have now made 22 LO's I can't see any dent in my stash at all!  Sure sign I have too much stash.

Don't forget to pop over to Julia to take a look at other craft work spaces.

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday? (11 July 2012)

It has been a long long time since I have joined in but I have tried to pop in and have a look at some desks each week even though I have failed miserably at commenting on all that I looked at.  This week I am taking the time to share my desk and will pop in and comment on some of yours, can't guarantee how many as the list is now so long but I will comment on some.

This is my desk as it looks this morning:

This is the wall my desk is against.  I have added another Ikea kitchen bar at the top with 2 baskets which has raised my Mr Huey's up off the desk and given me lots more space.  It has also given space to store some more punches.  This is the very messy desk:

And here is a close up of the LO; Diamond Jubilee Celebrations:

Thanks for visiting.  Don't forget to pop over to Julia to have a look at some more desks or join in and show the world your crafting space.

I am also entering this LO in to the current challenge at SJ Crafts.

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday

Project tidy went to plan last Wednesday.  To be honest once I had got my lazy a**e up it didn't take too long! However, the dry weather on Thursday was taken advantage of and we went on a family day out.  Check the baby lambs out that we saw being born.  Liam and Freya were fascinated and I'm quite sure it is something they may never see again.

Back to today.  Desk looks like this:

With my expedit looking like this; Apart from a couple and I really do mean just a couple of pages used for my Document 2011 those Studio Calio kits are untouched.  Hence why I have cancelled my subscription.

Underneath the desk is a box of punches and 3 cubes full of wool.  Boxes of wool around various rooms of the house, under the stairs and up the loft too!

I also have a large sideboard downstairs full of scrap kits plus my totes that never seem to get unpacked!

So there you have it, my craft desk.  pop on over to Julia to have a good old snoop at plenty of other desks.

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday?

It has been a long time since I joined in.  Sadly work gets in the way.  Well today I am going to share with you 'Project Tidy':

This will be tidied today plus my craft bags unpacked from the retreat the weekend before last as I have a full day of scrapping planned for tomorrow!

Don't forget to pop on over to the lovely Julia.  Thanks for visiting x

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday?

Wednesday is here again and that means it's time for another WOYWW.  Doesn't time fly so quickly when you are not at work?  I go back to work tomorrow after 13 days off and I just can't believe how quick time has flown.  I'm quite sure the next 2 weeks until half term, when I have another week off, will not fly by so quick.  There is no picture of my desk after last weeks viewing because, despite being off work, it still looks exactly the same. Nothing added and most certainly nothing removed!  I have done some crafting; crochet on the sofa and scrapping in the kitchen.

Here is my last LO that I completed:

I have used the My Mind's Eye range Lost & Found 2:Blush for this LO plus some mini alphas, large glitter alphas, a doily, gems, Jenni Bowlin's weathervane ink and Studio Calico's Mr Huey in Piglet.  I originally had these papers as part of a class at Sarah's Cards Retreat last November but I have purchased more as I just love them.

The design is based on this very beautiful LO by Lisa.  I just love Lisa's scrapping especially her use of embellishments. Lisa lives in Germany and although we live many mimes apart I have had the pleasure of meeting her on a number of occasions when she pops in to Bromsgrove Crop which her sister Libby runs.  Do pop over to Lisa's blog and take a look at her fantastic and creative work.  One month I will try to join in with the Counterfeit Kit Challenge.  Just need to find the time at the beginning of the month to pull a kit together; lets face it, there is plenty to choose from in my house.

If you fancy seeing some other great crafty spaces pop on over to Julia and take a look.

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday?

I know I shouldn't start any new projects and I included on my This Year I Will list last year that I would finish crochet projects before any new were started and I have also included this aim on my 2012 goals.  But just between Christmas and New Year I was getting a little bored with the cot ripple and fancied something new and quick.

I also know I shouldn't buy any yarn either but I did on Friday.  Lots of it to be precise but I'll show you that when it comes hopefully later this week.  Just to tease you more I'll also be back with some sales bargains I just had to have.  Totally needed you know.  Needed to help me with this stash mountain I am hiding under.  Needed to help me achieve crafting goals for 2012.  You know, I just NEEDED!

Every crochet project I have on the go at the moment is large and I have around 95% to complete on all of the projects I have started.  I want something quick to complete.  The two scarf's I made for presents have given me the finish bug and I need a quick fix project.

As I started this new project last week, the last week of 2011, it doesn't count towards the breaking of finish crochet projects before new ones are begun goal I have set for 2012.  Well I have completely ripped off Heather's Pink Daisy Blanket.  I did try to make it a complete granny but during blocking I thought no, no, no.  It was just not right:

So I ripped it back a round and thought I must rip Heather off completely:

One little daisy round.....and then it multiplied!  I have 4 finished squares now, which I am really happy with for a few days work.

Look, I've even sewed in the ends as I've gone along.  Can't quite believe it can you?  Well neither can I.

Wonder how long I can keep this dedication up?  Probably not long as I go back to work today after a lovely 2 weeks off.

Pop on over to Julia to see lots of other crafty work desks around the WWW.

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday?

I haven't taken part in Julia's WOYWW for quite sometime basically because I am unable to link up until late on Wednesday and more importantly I just don't have the time to look at others desks.  I feel really guilty when people take the time to visit me and I don't do the same.  Today I have swopped my day off and am at home today.  To be honest I have done no scrapping at my desk since I broke my leg in June.  Although I can now get up the stairs I go up at night and down in the day as it still causes discomfort when bending my knee, which can't be avoided on stairs!  Therefore, what scrapping I have done has been done in the kitchen and has to be packed away.  However, crochet can be done anywhere!

This is what I have been working on the last few days:

It's a ripple blanket using Rowan 4ply pure wool.  It is for a single bed and is made using a 3mm hook so its taking a while to see some progress.

Hope to visit as many of you as I can but with over 100 participants I will not manage to visit you all.  If you would like to join in or see other crafty workspaces go on over to Julia's Blog where you can follow Mr Linky.

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday?

Ladies it has been a while but this week I have crochet on my mind!  These darker and sadly colder nights are making me want to snuggle up under a blanket and crochet.  This is one of my current projects (one of many!) I am currently working on.  My Giant Rowan Ripple:

Only just started this and I know it is going to take a long long time as it is the size of a king size bed.  It is so soft and warm snuggle underneath it when I am crocheting!

Don't forget to pop on over to Julia and look at some other crafty work desks.  I'll try to visit as many as I can over the next few days as I just can't help but have a peak into your crafty worlds.

Thanks for visiting
