Family Craft Morning

This LO has been made for 2 challenges.  The first is Studio Challenges sketch challenge and then SJ Crafts challenge to make a LO based on a Summer theme.

Both Liam and Freya have also made a LO for both challenges.  You can see them making their LOs here.

These photos go back to July 2008 and I can't believe it has taken me until now to scrap them.

They were taken at the same place in Wales we are staying now, the very same place I have scrapped them.

WOYWW & WIPW

Hello all.  I'm still on holiday and still struggling with a really bad internet connection so I am afraid this is a joint post again.  We are back home tomorrow so next week I will be going back to 2 separate posts.
My desk this week has looked like this week with my two little helpers who both wanted to scrap:
This is what they were working on:

Crochet wise I have sat on the beach and made another 9 squares, plus the 4 blogged yesterday as part of my Tuesday Tallies.

This makes a total of 116 squares with 16 of the joined together.

Pop on over to Julia and Tami to have a look at lots of crafty desks and woolly projects.

When home I will take a look at other participants of both get togethers as really struggling with the internet connection.  The local library  here closes on a Wednesday (!!!!!????) and I had trouble logging on at the train station yesterday which meant we had to go back to the library for a second time to finish my posts.  Reason it was a second visit is it closes for an hour at lunchtime.  Until you are in a similar place you don't realise how much you take your local amenities for granted.

Thanks for visiting and I will be popping in to see some of you over the weekend. Enjoy your day all x

Tuesday Tallies (28 August 2012)

Before I start talking crochet can I apologise to anyone who visited my blog yesterday.  How on earth I managed do a post without a picture I really do not know.  The internet connection here in Wales is teriable and I have to either go to the library or the local steam train cafe to get a connection.  The connection on my blackberry is awful, vertually none exixtant during the day and very tempremental between midnight and 4am.  Good job I am an insomniac really else I would not be getting my crafty blog fix these past few weeks.

This weeks progress is a little different to normal.  After completing 4 squares I got bored.

So I went down to the local knitting store where we are on holiday and brought a needle and started to sew squares together:

Pop on over to Carole for some other one a day progress reports.

Down On The Farm

This is my 5th LO made using Summer Lovin', August CKC kit.  Seems funny it is only 5 as it feels like I have made more.

Plan was to make at least 10 out of this kit.

This certainly is achievable with amount of kit I have left but the problem is I am getting a little bored of just scrapping these papers. We are still on holiday and don't go home until Thursday and the only other papers I have are the MME Indie Chic. Its times like this I am missing my stash as a couple of LOs with different papers would get me back in to using this kit.  I also wanted to be at the 50 LO mark by the end of the school holidays.  Another 12 LOs in 10 days?  It can be done but will I have time?  When we get home Thursday my Dad would have been in the house on his own for 3 weeks, hhmmm wonder what I will find!

If you are in the UK (sorry Scotland) I hope you enjoy the rest of the Bank Holiday weekend.  We have had a couple of days out this past week and i'll be back tomorrow to tell you all about some of these adventures.

Just Chillin'

When I saw the first mini challenge at CKC I had a look at the other challenge sites suggested and although out of time to enter I liked the idea of a male orientated LO at Use Your Stuff's Challenge.  This is my LO which was made with my Summer Lovin' CKC August kit:

Loved the other challenge sites suggested and I think I am going to join in with some of those challenges too.  Sorry about the glare on the photo but we are on holiday and its either very bright or too dim and this is the best photo I could get.

Sarah's Cards August Sketch Challenge

I have some scrap materials on holiday with me but these supplies are limited.  I have my Summer Lovin'  CKC kit and some Indie Chic Ginger & Citroen papers, a few mists and ink.  I have followed this months sketch using the Indie Chic Citroen papers:

WIPW & WOYWW (22 August 2012)

I am away at the moment and don't have internet access where we are staying, therefore when I do manage to get a connection I am making the most of it as it is very rare and very temperamental.  This is why this is a combined post.  As part of Tuesday Tallies, yesterday I blogged that I had made 13 squares between Wednesday and Saturday just gone.  Between Sunday and last night I made a further 27 squares, giving a total of 103 mini squares.  Yay, passed the 100 mark!!!

I'm getting there slowly.

And my workdesk this week?  Well its been this view:

Yes I have sat on the beach crocheting.
Pop on over to Tami and Julia to join in all the fun.  Thanks for looking x

Tuesday Tallies (21 August 2012)

These are my little squares competed this week:

All 13 of them.  I have completed a total of 76 squares and used the first ball of pink I have.  I have crocheted 23 sqares from one 50g ball.  I have 11 colours and 3 balls of each.  I plan on crocheting 2 balls of each colour which will giove me 1 ball for sewing together and a border.  Hope this will be enogh as I don't want to be buying any more stash as life changing plans have been made and I NEED to downsize craft supplies and save money if they are to come to fruition.

I am ashamed to say that last week I did not make any squares at all which is why I wasn't joining in.  No real reason why no crochet done exceept life.  It just distracts for our hobbies at times.  How very annoying of it!

Pop on over to Carole to take a look at some other one a day projects.

Hand In Hand

I may have not been blogging for the last week but I have been crafting.   I have completed three LO's using my Summer Lovin' kit.

One of my favourite scrapbookers whose work I absolutely adore is Stephanie Howell.  I first discovered Steph via her work on the DT for Studio Calico some 3 years ago and have been an avid fan ever since then.  When I discovered she was leaving the DT hat Studio Calico I was quite upset...well that was until I found out why she was leaving.  Steph now works for MME, my favourite scrapbook designers!  This for me is nothing but a win win situation.
Yesterday on her blog Steph challenged everyone to scrap a LO, card, tag etc.  As simple as that, make a paper craft project on Sunday.  This is my LO:

The first mini challenge at CKC is join in with an online challenge which I am including this LO.  I am loving this kit I have made from scraps and would like to make a minimum of 10 LOs from the kit this month.  This is LO #3 that i have made.

Thanks for looking x

Summer Sun

After all the rain we have had this year it was lovely to have some sunny weather and like a lot of people we wanted to make the most of it.  The first week of the holidays we went to Benthall Hall which is near Munch Wenlock in Shropshire.  The House did not open until the afternoon and before our picnic lunch we went to Wenlock Priory.  The ruins are so lovely and the Priory must have been a wonderful sight all those years ago when it was built.

Here are  few pictures:

I am really happy how these photos have come out and I could not wait to scrap them.  When I saw this months challenge over at Once Upon  Sketch was the seasons, I knew the exact photos to use and the story I wanted to tell.  As per usual Liam and Freya were messing around and when I asked them to stop Liam just told me they were having fun in the sun while it was here.  Well who am I to argue!

This is my LO:

Made with Studio Calico Memoir papers, October Afternoon buttons and brads from my stash.   I am also entering this LO in to the challenge at the Child's Play Challenge blog where the challenge was to take inspiration from a beach ball.  I have used lots of circles on this LO with the PP plus brads and buttons.

Thanks for looking and lets hope we have another week of summer sun.

Its August and Its the Olympics, so what else can I do but my top 10 Things about London 2012.

1. Our Olympic Adventure.  This just has to come top!

2. Opening Ceremony, rings rising up.

3. The Queen and James Bond.  What's not to love?

4. Eventing Silver Medal.  Just wish I had been able to see this, especially the cross country.

5. Katherine Grainger.  At last, she gets her gold.
6. Such beauty.  Charlotte Dujardin wins gold.

7. The sheer look of shock on this young girls face.  15 year old Ruta Meilutyte wins gold in the pool.

8. The proudest Father ever.  Bert le Clos Father of swimmer Chad.

9. The normality of this photo.  They are just so grounded and celebrate the same as everyone else!

10.  All Countries have female competitors.

Don't forget to pop on over to Shimelle to see some other 10 Things On The 10th.

Our Olympic Adventure

Yesterday was a good day, a really good day.  One of the best.  We had a once in a lifetime adventure when we went to the Olympics.

When I brought the tickets all those months ago I didn't have the money to pay for travel and overnight stays in London and I knew that going down in one day would be too much health wise for me.  I then began loooking what was happening outside London.  We settled on the Footbal at Coventry just over an hour away.  Like everyone else I put tickets in the basket only to lose them.  Then finally I got some, the Bronze final for the Women's Football.  Last Thursday we were wishing Team GB to win against Canada then to lose so they could be in the Bronze medal match and we could watch the home team.  Sadly that was not to be and they lost to Canada last week.

Not excited at all!

Yesterday we saw Canada play Francce.  I'd say 95% of the crowd were behind Canada.  I was quite shocked as to how many empty seats there were.  The Richeo Stadium seats around 24,500 and yet attendance was just over 12,000 with huge areas of the stadium completely empty.

The area behind us stayed empty.

It was a great match and at the final whistle there were 2 minutes of extra time as the score was still 0:0.  One minute in the Candians scored!

And then it was over.

The only down side was not seeing the medal ceremony.  The players went down to Wembly to be presented with their medals along with the Gold and Silver medallists.  Alot of the crowd felt the same.

Off home we went.

 One memorable day.

I have entered this LO in to Studio Calico's Design Team Challenge.  Must dash as we are off somewhere special today.  I'll be back this week to show you where we went.  I'll give you a clue; the kids re really excited and so am I to be honest aas this really is a one off experience.
