ATDML's Cybercrop Challenge No.6

For this challenge participants had to scrap lift a LO from the Design Team from either the May or June gallery.  This challenge really threw me as there were some lovely pages that I could choose from.  In the end I narrowed it down to 2 pages.  The first was 'Jet Ski' by Katherine Sutton.  This is my take:

I was attracted to this LO because of the lovely bright colours but mine ended up much more mutted when I used the Farmhouse collection from October Afternoon.  Next I choose a very simple yet effective LO 'I (heart) Snow', again by Katherine

Love the simplicity of this LO.

Hope to be back with some other challenges before they close tomorrow but my sleep pattern has been all over the joint and I may NEED sleep by this time tomorrow.  If you have chance pop on over to the ATDML blog as there are some lovely inspirational work.

Thanks for looking x

ATDML Online Scrap Weekend Class One

Class one of ATDML's online crop was a 12 x 12 page by Mel Hand.  There were instructions to follow but as I was not feeling 100% I scrap lifted the finished example and this is what I created:

A photo of Freya eating an ice cream.  Having ice-creams is a regular thing when she is out with her Grandad as there is no reason needed to have an ice-cream.  He is just like a big kid when it comes to ice cream.

This LO was made with the original Amy Tangerine range released last year.  Believe it or not this is the first LO I have made with this range which is why I am in desperate need to bust the stash.

Stash Busting Challenge

Time has come again to bust the stash.  The kits have kept coming each month, I have kept buying extras each month and I have kept scrapping but not as quick as the stash comes in.  Sadly next month will see the last Sarah's Cards Monthly Kit.  I will miss this box of goodies coming each month but I can understand why Sarah made the decision to stop the kits.  Alot of work goes in to them and she has kept the price the same without reducuing the size and quality of the kits each month, something which other kit suppliers haven't done.

I will miss the kit and this is the last kit I subscribe to having stopped Scrapagogo in January 2011 and Studio Calico in March this year.  But I have 18 unopened kits and another 21 part used kits going back as far as March 2010.  Then there are all the extras.  My expedit is fit to burst.  I really like having a monthly kit but I need to use up some stash before I start another subscription.  Having already decided I am going back to Studio Calico I need to make some space for those big brown boxes.  In order to do just that I am challenging myself to complete 100 LO's.

Yes, thats right 1 0 0 LO's.  So far I have made 6.  I have shown you 3 and 1 is for my Chinese Whispers Facebook group and I can't show that yet.  I am continuing with Project Life but that project will not be included in this challenge.  Here are the two I have not yet shared:

The first LO is taken from a sketch in Page Maps 2 book and the second from Sarah's Cards June challenge.  I am not entering this LO as it didn't come out as well as I had hoped but I am going to have a go and make another to enter.  I am hoping to try and enter some more challenges in order motivate me to achieve these 100 LO's as soon as I can.

At this point I may need more than this challenge before I start the kit subscription back up as I must at least use up all the stash that won't fit in the expedit.  To say my stash fills a 5 x 5 expedit screams to me that I have too much but when the unit is then piled to the ceiling with boxes plus the top of my wardrobe is also piled high I fully realise something must be done.

I fully expect this challenge to take me until the end of the year and hope to scrap on Sundays and one evening during the week making 3/4 LO's a week.  I am planning on blogging Monday and Fridays so please pop back the end of the week for an update.  If you fancy joining in let me know and we could perhaps set up a Mr Linky and bust the stash together.

Liverpool; The Other Bits

I promise you I have come to the end of my Liverpool posts.  The only posts you will now see about our trip will be posts showing LO's I have scrapped.

Here are a few more photos that didn't really fit in with any of the other posts.  First up is a horse and carriage ride:

Some favourite photos:

And finally the out takes:

Never did get one of all 3 of us on the ferry.

One Month Old

Last Saturday we had a two hour trip down to South Wales to visit a little boy who was 1 month old.  He is still waking every 2 hours day and night for feeds and naturally Mom and Dad are both exhausted.  It was a lovely day and I put Thomas in his pram and took him with Liam, Freya and his big Brother Gvidas off to the local Natonal Trust property which is a 5 minute walk away for a couple of hours fun in the grounds.  He fell asleep before we had even managed to get to the park grounds.

He slept lovely whilst the kids played.

When we got back, he had a feed and it was time for posing:

Then he decided he'd had enough!

Come back Monday to see some of these photos scrapped.

The Music Of Liverpool

I don't think there are many people who think of music and Liverpool and don't immediately think The Beatles.  Believe it or not The Beatles are now on the National Curriculum for Primary School Children.  Liam has loved learning about the Beatles last term and was coming home with facts on a daily basis.  He was so excited when his Grandad told him he had seen them play live in 1963.  This enthusiasm was the reason why I choose Liverpool.

We started out Beatles experience with visiting The Beatles Story which was next to our hotel.  It was reasonably priced at £21 for the 3 of us.  The entrance fee gave us entry to 2 exhibitions for the day plus the following day.

The second pat of The Beatles story was based 5 minutes away by the Mersery Ferry Terminal.  This included an exhibition of photographs of them and also a 4D film.

The kids loved the interactive film which we had to see twice.  The first time we were on the front row and Freya could see the screen perfectly fine as there was nobody in front.  However, she was too short and missed out on the interactive parts of the film.  The second time we went we sat her on a booster seat and this tiem the sprays of water got her in the face instead of going over her head like they did the first time.  If Liam and I were getting wet it was only fair she did!

Monday saw the second part of our Beatles adventure when we went on the magical mystery tour.

After visiting Penny Lane, Strawberry Fields, George's home and Paul's Home we drove in to Liverpool City Centre to go to the Cavern Club.  The tour also drives past John & Ringo's childhood home, their managers house and sold school but you do not get off the coach at this places.
