Lovely Little Deliveries

Wasn't the best of days on Friday as everything has just seemed to go wrong, one little thing after another.  It wasn't helped by the fact it was Friday, my non working day and I was at work!  My mouse wasn't working, my computer kept freezing, left my lunch at home....and on it went!  However, when I got home I came back to a super lovely extra large pizza box all the way from the US; the absolutely stunning January Studio Calico kit, Who's Who:

I also had my usual add on papers.  These are the patterned papers from the four add on kits that can be purchased separately each month:

And this month I also purchased one of the add on kits: Betty Crocker:

I added another 3 mists to my collection:

Warm Calico                         Apple Jack                      Calico Cream

I also took delivery this week of a wonderful scrap sketch book; Scrapbook Page Maps 2.

Its a lovely colourful spiral bound book with over 100 sketches.  The best bit is there are some tear out laminated cards at the back of the sketches than are already punched so you can take the cards with you to a crop if you don't have room to take the book.  Thank you to my fellow scrappers at Bromsgrove crop who brought their copies on Saturday.  First thing I did when I got home was pop over to the Amazon website to order my own copy.  Really lovely book that I know I will get many great LO's from.  It really is good value for money and recommend you have a look at a copy if you can.

Fellow scrappers Deb, Libby & Jackie all brought their copies and we all scrapped 'Ted'. Click on the names to see their pages.  This is mine using the Scrapagogo December kit; 'Miss Cutie':

I also completed some pages in my JYC album (finished off at home as I had left my journalling paper at home) and this page, 'Meeting Santa' where I used the September Scrapagogo kit

Aim this week is to carry on with my JYC album and I will be back later in the week to show you my progress.

Hope you all have had a great weekend so far & enjoy what's left of it. x

Do Something New Every Month - January

This year I will try something new every month and as my one little word for the year suggests I will concentrate on me.  Twelve brand new & hopefully exciting things I have never done before, all benefiting me.

This month I have started as I mean to go on and jumped straight in with a new adventure; one I never ever thought I would do.  And why?  Well I hate things moving round or touching my feet.  So what do I find myself being talked in to?

A fish pedicure.

Even now it brings goosebumps and sends shivers down my spine.  Little fish swimming round my feet, oh the horror.  Sucking away with all their might at my feet.

Off I went with my lovely friend Sarah on Tuesday night after work where we dipped our feet in the tank and let those little blighters do their stuff.  And oh did they do their stuff!

It really was one of the most strangest sensations, like a little tickle yet the feeling was so relaxing and even now my feet feel so amazing.

Never did I think I could do this and I did.  Loved it so much we have booked in to have it all done again later this month!

One Little Word For 2011

Going to sound a little selfish but to be honest I really feel I am at the point in my life when I need to be selfish and think of putting me before others.

I am going to concentrate on me this year.

My health

My happiness

My dreams

ME

2011, Are You Going To Be My Friend?

Yesterday I listed what I wanted to do this year.  Yes some are going to be large challenges that will eat away at lots and lots of money and take time to achieve.  However, there were a couple of ones that were daily or smaller challenges:

Kiss and cuddle my little babies at least once every day.  CHECK

Find something to smile about each day.  SORT OF

Have a minimum of 30 minutes every day of ME time, no children, no TV, no computer, no telephone, just ME.  As selfish as this may sound, it needs to be done for my own health, both physically & mentally.  BIG FAIL, NOT A SECOND TO MYSELF ALL DAY

Go for a walk every day, even if it is only for 5 minutes, I will go outside and walk to clear my head and think about life.  DIDN'T GET DRESSED UNTIL 5PM

Eat 5 portions of fruit & veg a day. GLASS OF ORANGE JUICE

Use more scrap stash than I buy.  1 PAGE MINUS PHOTOS IN JYC BUT 4 STASH ORDERS TOTALLING £153.45  BUT I HAVE ALSO ORDERED PHOTOS WHICH WILL HELP AS I AM GETTING BORED WITH SCRAPPING THE ONES I HAVE

Bake lots and lots of yummy things.  DO SCRAMBLED EGGS COUNT?  THEY WERE YUMMY

Well I can report some success:

Attend a retreat. I BOOKED A PLACE ON THE NOVEMBER RETREAT RUN BY SARAH'S CARDS

Finish decorating my scrap space & bedroom.  FILLED A BLACK BIN BAG WITH CLUTTER

And we have one fail already:

Win the lottery BUT I WILL SETTLE FOR WEDNESDAY SO NOT A TRUE FAIL YET

Overall result:

FAIL

So then 2011, please tell me; are you going to be my friend? Could do with a friend right now as your predecessors were not nice.

This Year I Will.....

  1. Kiss and cuddle my little babies at least once every day.
  2. Find something to smile about each day.
  3. Have a minimum of 30 minutes every day of ME time, no children, no TV, no computer, no telephone, just ME.  As selfish as this may sound, it needs to be done for my own health, both physically & mentally.
  4. Make Fridays (my day off) part housework/errand - frees the weekend to spend time with Liam & Freya - and part 'me' time.  Too much of the housework/errand stuff last year!
  5. Go for a walk every day, even if it is only for 5 minutes, I will go outside and walk to clear my head and think about life.
  6. Eat 5 portions of fruit & veg a day.
  7. Have a wonderful Summer holiday; a 3 1/2 week tour of Europe to include my Brother's Wedding in Lithuania.
  8. Get organised; 2010 was really not a good year and this year I will get back to the place where I am in control of what is happening and not depending upon others, who quite frankly let me & my children down.
  9. Choose carefully those people I let into our lives.
  10. Start organising presents for Christmas - Its going to be a stress free one this year unlike the mayhem of 2010!
  11. Have a professional family photo shoot.
  12. Do something new every month.
  13. Finish decorating my scrap space & bedroom.
  14. Decorate Liam's room.
  15. Decorate the lounge.
  16. Decorate the hall stairs & landing.
  17. Finish the roof on my garage, laundrette and downstairs toilet.
  18. New laundrette cupboards.
  19. Decorate down stairs toilet.
  20. Sort out the plumbing.
  21. New window in bathroom and landing.
  22. Find a baby sitter so I can go to Bromsgrove Crop on a Saturday.
  23. Attend a retreat.
  24. Complete 12 LO's a month.
  25. Complete 12 Granny Squares or stripes a month.
  26. Catch up on unfinished scrapping projects from 2010; JYC 2010, Document 2010, LSNED 2010 & Liam & Freyas Year In The Life Of albums.
  27. Complete a family scrapbook for 2011; something on the lines of Document 2011.
  28. Complete Liam's and Freya's '2011 Year In The Life Of' mini albums.
  29. Use more scrap stash than I buy.
  30. Finish all the crochet projects I have started before I begin anything new.
  31. Knit myself a pom pom scarf.
