Ta Da; Car Seat Blanket

I finished the car seat blanket as planned but haven't got round to showing the finished item yet.  So without further ado, here it is:

This blanket didn't really cost anything as it was made with ends from my stash. The greatest sort of project eh?

Its just the right size as we have tried it out on a 5 month baby and it snuggles up lovely.

As I am writing this we are still waiting for a little girl to arrive. The hospital didn't induce my Sister In Law as they were going to so we are waiting for nature to do what it does best.

With the change in weather, Saturday and Sunday were both dry and bright, i have managed to get some photos of my project life progress. Plus i managed to complete another week of Project Life at Bromsgrove crop last Saturday. I also made Deb's card class.

Must get me some of the flower stamps and matching dies that she used.  Plus i love the ribbon too.  Can see a Stampin' Up order coming on.

In other news we had 2 new chickens last week.  Sadly we Lost our light Sussex Mo and really noticed the loss of 1 egg to the extent I found I had to buy some!  As you need to introduce at least 2 birds due to them fighting we purchased these lovely girls; This is them still at the Garden centre, Stevie, a black rock:

and Zeberdee, a layman:

And this is the best picture I could get of all 5 of them together:

Bromsgrove Crop

I really do not know where the past 10 days have gone since I last blogged.  I don't seem to have done anything different or been any more busy I just think this nasty cold weather has made me want to sit and snuggle up when I've got home from work.  Today I dragged myself down to Bromsgrove for our Monthly crop.  It was cold and I wanted to hibernate especially with the forcast of snow.

Every Lady present said as soon as there is any sign of snow I'm off.  Well, by 2pm we were all gone.  In the short time I was there I managed one LO.  A lot less than usual but it was quite cold in our little village hall.  Although my time there today was short lived I did enjoy the break and adult crafty chat.

I scrapped some old photos of Freya from the summer of 2006 when she was 3 years old which was made with an old Scrapagogo kit from 2010:

The chickens were not impressed at all with the snow!

Its been snowing steadily from around 1pm here today and just after 5 our garden looked like this:

Nearly 3 hours later its still coming down.  Wonder what sights the morning light will bring?

Sad News

Over the weekend I have had two very upset children and two very bewildered cats.  Sadly our lovely little tabby Barcardi died late Friday night.  She was always a very shy cat and would scamper off the minute the camera came out so sadly we don't have that many pictures of her.

She gone off now to be with her brother Breezer (Barcardi Breezer ;0) ).  She is already very missed.

Sorry But You Will Have To Wait A Little Longer.....

..for pictures of my recent scrapping project; a instax guest book for my Brother's wedding 3 weeks ago.  He has come up this weekend and has forgot to bring it!  What is he like????

Well with a bit of luck I will be going down to his this week as we have some carpets to deliver, it is time they cluttered his house and not mine and he doesn't have a car big enough so we will have to take them down to South Wales.  I'll be taking my camera so will get a few pics for you.

But you don't have to wait any longer to see the new residents at our house.  Meet Mo, Tinkerbelle, Florence and Mrs Brown:

and in true scrapper style I have not let anyone have any eggs as I wanted to photograph our first weeks supply, all 9 of them.

As they get older, they are 18 to 20 weeks old, we will get more eggs.  With a bit of luck one per hen each day

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend.  Just sad its not Summer weather.....must be coming sometime soon.

Ten Days Old...

...3 little baby bunnies!

The Proud Parents

Over Christmas & New Year these two had bunny cuddles:

They cuddled & cuddled.  This morning Smokey & Snowball are proud parents to a little baby bunny!

Mommy has been a little temperamental the past few weeks.  Biting the other girl bunny she shares a cage with, not wanting to be picked up and finally lunging at me last Friday and biting me.  This was so not like her.  So last Saturday we separated the girls and built her a nest box and filled it with hay.

Last night she had pulled a ton of her fur out and 'feathered' her nest.  This morning Freya came running to me to say there was a baby.  She had given birth to one pup on the cage floor.  We donned rubber gloves and put the baby in the nest.  An hour later she was in the nest box.  When I checked shortly after she had covered the baby with her fur.  Don't know if there are other babies that she had given birth to in the nest and covered them as I don't want to upset her by messing with them.

And so we sit and wait to see how many babies we have.

Sad Return Home

In more ways than one yesterday was a sad return home.  We have had such a wonderful long weekend away at Legoland and were joined for part of the time by my brother and his family.  Such fun we all had.

we returned home to fins something quite upsetting.  Whilst away our hamster Harriet had passed away.  The person who had been feeding our pets was quite mortified but she had done nothing wrong.  Harriet had just grown old.  She will be greatly missed by Liam and Freya.  RIP little Harriet.

Just Too Hot To Scrap!

Planned on having a scrapping frenzy today but sadly with this heat, it has just not happened.  There just seems no air at all.  First got poor Snowball out of his cage for a run around in the lounge with the fan on.  He really appreciated that and seemed much brighter after.

Liam just loves to hold him like he is a baby and the silly thing just lets him.

Then I spent nearly an hour moving the poor guinea pigs on to the patio as it is in the shade of our copper beach.  It was just way too hot for them on the grass.  I sprayed the patio before I moved them and they just perked up no end when they were moved.  Pity the same can't be said for me!

My Dad is calling at my Mother In Laws later today to pick up my foot pump so we can pump some air into the kids new paddling pool.  Quite glad the pool was deflated today as its just too hot for them to go out, especially for Freya, who like me, goes lobster at the slightest hint of the sun.

Hoping to get some energy back and get some scrapping done after we have eaten.

Finally Completed A LO And A Little Bit Of Crochet

It may have been the 17 June yesterday but I finally completed my first LO this month.  With everything going on my mojo has really gone and I have just not had the time or the inclination to scrap. At the Bromsgrove Crop last night I completed this:

Think I need to add a little cotton to the buttons to complete it.

Also have some crochet to show you.  Have used the teal sublime wool and done a round on Liam's Granny Squares and stitched them together:

Freya was very insistent Snowball had a cuddle, stupid animal just let her wrap him up in it:

It is so lovely and cuddly.  Blanket is going to be 7 squares by 12.  Only another 75 squares to go!  Before anyone does the maths, I have a ninth square that I haven't stitched together yet.

Had a delivery of new yarn today which I will photograph and show you over the weekend.  This is also going to be Granny Squares, just love doing them and the they so easy to take places.

Bowling, Pizza & Our New Addition!

My little baby boy turned 8 last Saturday and there were only four things on his Birthday wish list.  These were:

  1. Lego Indiana Jones 2 for his DS
  2. Lego Harry Potter for his DS
  3. Bowling
  4. Bunny Rabbit
On Saturday he woke to his Lego Indiana Jones 2 game which he has pretty much played non stop since.  Lego Harry Potter is not out until the end of the month and I had told him he can have that when it is released.  He really loves the Lego games and plays for hours, which is good for me as it keeps him very quite!

Monday night we went bowling, which he won, Grandad came last after supposidly pulling a muscle while bowling his first ball.

This was followed by a meal at Pizza Hut.

Finally we called at the pet shop on the way home and I reluctantly gave in and purchased this little fellow, who Liam has named Snowball:

I was reluctant to agree to a rabbit, not because I had anything against another pet its just we have had 2 rabbits previously, both of which we have had to have put down due to abcesses.  All of us found this quite upsetting, especially our last rabbit Treacle who we had only had for 4 weeks.  I've made it clear he has joined our family on the understanding he does not go in the same cage as the guinea pigs, on both occassions the abcesses were caused by guinea pig bites.  The guinea pigs have gone out into the outside cage and little Snowball is staying inside in the indoor cage for a few weeks as he is still very tiny (only 10 weeks old) and has never been outside.  This gives me a little time to sort out another outdoor cage and run.

He had a little cuddle from both Liam & Freya and then a hop round the lounge while I moved the guinea pigs and cleaned the indoor cage.  He is really friendly and after only 10 minutes in the lounge last night he was hopping over to Liam and climbing up him!

Only problem is Freya wants a rabbit for her birthday in July and is very insistant she has a girl bunny and can't see why thay can't live together because baby rabbits would be fun!

I don't think so, baby bunnies are a big no no!!!!!!

Late Night Scrapping & Chasing Hamsters

Couldn't sleep so decided to put my energy to good use.  Just scrapped my Daughter making cakes back in August 2007.  She had just turned 4 and was at the stage where she didn't want any help doing anything but still needed help!

Oh the mess after she had finished icing those cakes.

Good job I couldn't sleep as I heard a noise behind me and when I turned, stood in the middle of the room were two of our cats looking at one of the hamsters walking across the room.  Harriet is now back safe and sound in her cage and the cats are sat on the sideboard watching her.....too late girls, you had your chance and missed it!
